September 1 – May 14: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Closed Mondays, except holiday Mondays.
May 15 – August 31: Open seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Although advance bookings are not required, walk-up admission is subject to availability. We recommend that you buy tickets in advance, to guarantee you’ll be able to enter the Museum at your preferred time.
Royal Tyrrell Museum Cooperating Society members are asked to pre-book their free timed tickets either by logging into their accounts through the Museum's website, or by contacting our Membership Department at 403-820-6222 or membership@tyrrellmuseum.ca.
All other pass holders eligible for discounts or free tickets must purchase advance tickets online at full price, then present their pass/card and payment card at the entrance on the day they visit to receive the applicable refund.
Please note: The last daily ticket time for Museum entry from September 1 – May 14 is 3:30 p.m., with no entry after 4:00 p.m.
The last daily ticket time for Museum entry during summer hours, May 15 – August 31, is 7:30 p.m., with no entry past 8:00 p.m.

If you arrive earlier or later than your ticket time, you may be re-booked for the current time, subject to availability. Please inquire with our Visitor Services staff.

Pass holders entitled to free tickets (e.g., CFOne card holders, registered Canoo participants, EAHP pass holders) and individuals eligible for the discounts below must purchase advance tickets online at full price. On the day you visit, you will need to present your pass/card and payment card at the entrance to receive the applicable refund.
Military personnel and their immediate family (two adults and their dependent children) with a valid CFOne card receive free unlimited admission to Alberta’s provincial museums, historic sites, and interpretive centres. Pre-purchased tickets required.
Canoo (Formerly the Cultural Access Pass program)
New Canadian citizens can register for Canoo,which allows free access to participating institutions (including the Royal Tyrrell Museum) for one year from the day they receive citizenship. Pre-purchased tickets required.
Experience Alberta’s History Pass (EAHP)
Purchase an EAHP and receive unlimited regular admission for one year to Alberta’s provincially operated historic sites, museums, and interpretive centres. Pre-purchased tickets required.
Access 2 Entertainment Card
We are a participating venue for the Access 2 Entertainment Program, administered by Easter Seals Canada. Pre-purchased tickets required.
