Visitor Guidelines

Enjoy your visit while helping us maintain a welcoming environment for everyone.

Please have fun, but avoid loud or unruly behaviour. If you verbally or physically abuse staff or visitors, you will be asked to leave.

Respect the exhibits. Do not touch fossils, stand in exhibits, or sit on display cases.

Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Alcohol and recreational cannabis consumption is prohibited on the property.

Shirts and shoes are mandatory. Swimwear, or clothing displaying offensive content, are not allowed.

Solicitation of any kind is prohibited in the building and throughout the property.

Pets are not allowed inside the Museum, with the exception of service dogs. Do not leave animals alone in vehicles, or unattended anywhere on the grounds, as summer temperatures in the badlands are deadly. Leashed pets are permitted along the trails around the Museum in Midland Provincial Park. For information about pet boarding, contact the Drumheller Visitor Information Centre.

Water and baby bottles are allowed in the galleries. Enjoy any other food and beverages in designated areas only.

Feel free to take photos for non-commercial use, but be respectful of other patrons. Tripods are not permitted in the galleries. If you wish to film or take photos at the Museum for commercial use, visit our News & Media page.

Stopping in the fire lane in front of the building is not allowed at any time. Drop zones are for short-term parking only.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the Museum and for public programs.

Leave your drones at home! By law, drones and other unmanned air vehicles are not permitted to take off or land in a provincial park or recreation area.

Thank you! We appreciate your help to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our visitors.
