Breakthroughs

The Royal Tyrrell Museum has been bringing the prehistoric past to life since 1985. Breakthroughs tells the stories of five extraordinary Alberta fossils that transformed our understanding of ancient animals, their evolution, and their behaviours. These specimens supported groundbreaking research on feeding, nesting, and evolutionary relationships. This exhibit showcases fossils that are the best-preserved, most complete, first of their kind, or the only known specimen of its kind.
