Seven Wonders of the Badlands


What stories do the rocks tell us about the changing environments of ancient Alberta? Join a guided hike in Midland Provincial Park to uncover the mysteries of this amazing landscape.

Please ensure that your program and admission times do not conflict. We recommend allowing 1.5 - 2 hours for your gallery experience.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult registered in the program.

Children under 2 are free, but still require a ticket.

Badlands Science Camp

Science Camp Overview

Learn basic geology, prospect for real dinosaur fossils, and contribute to ongoing palaeontological research by participating in amazing hands-on science projects. Activities will take place in the breathtaking Alberta badlands, as well as in our spacious Learning Centre facilities.

Science Break


Take a break outside and learn about the prehistoric world in this engaging and fun presentation.

This presentation is free, and is suitable for all ages. No tickets are required, but seating is limited.

Raptor Assembly


Join us to assemble an exact replica of a small dinosaur skeleton in this outdoor amphitheatre presentation.

Please Note:

This presentation is free, and is suitable for all ages. No tickets are required, but seating is limited.

Kidosaurus Club



Discover the world of dinosaurs and other prehistoric life through fun, hands-on activities for children ages 3 – 5.

During six consecutive weekly sessions in January and February, children will participate in crafts, games, tours, and stories.


Please Note:

One parent/guardian per child or group of children is required to attend.

Siblings are not permitted to attend, with the exception of infants 6 months or younger.

Fossil Casting


Make a fossil cast that is yours to keep, and learn why the Museum uses casts. You will also have the opportunity to touch some real fossils.


Please Note:

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paid adult registered in the program.

Participants must be at least 4 years of age to participate in this program. Based on the age specific content, the plaster material used, and the height of the tables, children under the age of 4 years are not allowed in the room.

Express Dig Experience


Protected from the heat and the rugged badlands terrain, Express Dig Experience provides a unique indoor opportunity to uncover real fossils using palaeontological tools..


Please Note:

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paid adult registered in the program.

Participants must be at least 5 years of age. This is due to the use of tools, and the program content which is geared for youth and adults.

Children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the room.

Dinosite


Search for and touch real fossils, and learn about ancient Alberta, as your expert guide leads you through the badlands.

Wheelchairs and strollers are not permitted due to the uneven terrain.
