The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology has been bringing Alberta’s prehistoric past to life since 1985. Communities throughout Alberta make the work of the Museum possible. We gratefully acknowledge the important role Albertans play in helping us protect, preserve, study, and present the province’s fossil heritage.
As we mark the Museum’s 40th anniversary, we invite you to celebrate with us. We’re sharing Alberta’s incredible fossils through an exciting collaboration with libraries across the province! From September 2025 through September 2026, check out our pop-up displays in 10 communities. We thank the libraries for their enthusiastic participation. Each unique display features fossils from the host community and the region. Check out related activities while you’re there!
